Responsibilities:

  • Educate and advise inquiring homeowners and tradespeople about the features and details of our kits and available options
  • Field inbound phone calls and emails from homeowners and tradespeople who would like more information on our kits or who need help in arriving at a buying decision
  • Create and issue price quotes to customers using our digital quote tool
  • Enter order information into our online dashboard
  • Read shop drawings of our kits in assembled form and check them for accuracy, suggest changes to them, and communicate these changes to drafts people and customers
  • Develop an understanding of how each of our structures is assembled. Assembly manuals can be found on this page.
  • Be the point person for customers until their structure is delivered and assembled
  • Learn answers to our many FAQ’s
  • Become well-versed in the many, many details of our kits associated with different structure types and sizes, different component types and sizes, various wood species, roofing material choices, stain color choices, roof pitch options, post widths, post heights, rafter sizes, header sizes, structural connections, and fasteners.
  • Handle anywhere from 50 to 150 different orders each year. 


Requirements:

  • Natural ability to communicate clearly and courteously
  • Enjoy talking with customers and helping them design their outdoor structure
  • Enjoy working with numbers (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).  
  • Comfortable visualizing structures in your mind and discussing how components fit together
  • Ability to work on multiple orders at the same time
  • Enjoy attention to detail and exactness
  • Solid command of English in spoken and written form
  • Typing speed of approximately 35 words per minute or better
  • Basic familiarity with (or ability to quickly learn) Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, basic computer skills, and standard business email etiquette
  • Ability to work remotely using a phone and computer supplied by us
  • Drug free. Initial drug screening prior to employment and random screenings thereafter
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, conducted in accordance with applicable laws
  • Prior experience drafting, engineering, selling, assembling, or building shade or other structures would be helpful.

Other details:

  • Immediate start available
  • Trial 60-day period leading to permanent position
  • Full-time work-from-home position 37.5 hours per week
  • Mon-Fri 9:00am – 5:00pm with flexibility for family obligations
  • Twenty paid vacation days per year plus nine holidays

Pergola Kits USA Inc. is a small company engaged in the design and sale of ready-to-assemble pergola kits, pavilion kits, and gazebo kits. We maintain offices or staff in New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

We ship our kits to customers nationwide. Our structures range in size from 100 – 3,000 sq. ft. and are made of top-grade wood or structural fiberglass. We sell primarily to homeowners, in addition to tradespeople (contractors, designers, etc.), municipalities, clubs, and companies.

Customers buy our structures to provide protection from sun and rain, to create a gathering space for friends and family, or to create a centerpiece for their outdoor space. We do not have showrooms, but instead generate all our orders through digital marketing. We have been in business for over ten years.
